The Pinedale Panther PTA is a strong parent-run source of support for our school. Pinedale has been very fortunate to have such a dedicated and involved PTA over the years and we hope that new parents will consider stepping up to help continue the tradition!
Our PTA is run by a panel of officers (President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer) as well as the school principal and various committee chairpersons. Meetings are held at Pinedale once a month. Meetings are open to all Pinedale parents and all are welcome to attend anytime, even if to just sit in and listen. But, don’t be intimidated; attendance at PTA meetings is not mandatory to be involved and no experience is necessary!
Even though Pinedale generally has tremendous family support for its PTA, many of our committees, both large and small, are in need of volunteers in order to continue. Without our parents getting involved, our students will be missing out on a lot of the fun PTA-related activities that they have come to look forward to throughout the school year! Thanks to the PTA, our school has been able to participate in things like Family Fun Week, Ice Skating Day, Hot Chocolate and Sno-Cones, Yearbook, Pinedale T-shirts, the Scholastic Book Fair, the annual Variety Show and the School Carnival.
In addition to PTA officers and chairpersons, every classroom benefits from having two Room Parents who help coordinate activities during the school year. Room Parents are asked to serve as a representative of their child’s classroom and are responsible for organizing their classroom’s contribution to school events, such as the Halloween and Valentine’s Day parties, pies and volunteer time at the Pinedale Bazaar, Turkey Bingo, and staff treats. Most parents are more than willing to help in some capacity, whether through food, supplies, or their time. They just need a Room Parent to direct them!
You will also have a chance to put your name down for many of the other events and committees listed. If that doesn’t doesn’t sound appealing, just make sure that your name and phone number or email is available to your classroom teacher or Room Parent, in case something comes up that’s just right for you! Every little bit helps!
When a classroom’s parents work together, it makes for a great year for our children, their teachers, and Pinedale Elementary as a school that we are proud to call home!
